The original Genteq motor has a 1/4 hp rating while this is rated at 1/5 hp. However, the new motor is definitely blowing harder than the old one. The wiring is virtually the same as the original, even though the red wire is closer to orange in color. The hardest part of the changeout is getting the two fans off the old motor. Have patience, with gentle pressure and a slight wiggle, they will come off undamaged. This motor is less than half the price of an OEM motor and I feel that it will last as long.It arrived three days earlier than promised and that is a good thing, since you never know how soon you will be needing ac in Texas!
